Even though it’s still summer, Old Main Frame Shop’s staff are looking way ahead to winter – at least as far as art is concerned. Artist Peter Sculthorpe studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. He then set up a studio in Chester County, PA. His works capture the beauty of old stone farm houses from that area, often adding cows and horses to his images.

What the staff at Old Main Frame Shop think makes Peter’s work so amazing is the way he captures the winter sky. Pennsylvania winter skies aren’t just black but contain deep blues and purples which Sculthorpe captures expertly. In addition his rendering of the moon and the light it casts on those cloudy and cold winter nights is skillfully reproduced with his watercolor brush.

Sculthorpe’s work is available in both prints and giclees. You can check out the prints here http://www.mcgawgraphics.com/search/node/Sculthorpe and order through us!
