Our NEW photographs bring to life the traditions and heritage the Nittany Lion Shrine symbolizes. The Nittany Lion Shrine was donated by the class of 1940. Heinz Warneke was commissioned to carve the lion on site from a thirteen ton block of limestone.

Old Main as we now know it sits on the original footprint of “The Main Building”. Old Main was rebuilt in 1930 using some of the original limestone.

Previously unbeaten, Ohio State sustained their first loss of the season when the Nittany Lions blocked a field goal attempt, recovered and scored. PSU beat the Buckeyes 24-21 in Beaver Stadium during the forever famous “WhiteOut” of 2016.
