Even though the statue is no longer a part of the PSU campus you can still get a photograph of it here at Old Main Frame Shop. Taken by Joe Bodkin this image shows the statue shortly after it was erected on November 2, 2001. The statue is approximately 7’ tall and weighs 900 lbs.

After winning his first National Championship in 1983 Joe Paterno wanted Penn State to be known for its academic excellence as well as its sports excellence. Paterno made his intentions clear – a new and improved library. Joe and his wife Sue started a campaign which raised 13.7 million for the construction of the new library wing – which was subsequently named after them. Our NEW image shows the entrance to the Paterno Wing of the library.

The Elms are a part of the Penn State Tradition. Penn State President George Atherton first planted Elm Trees on the Penn State Campus in the 1890’s. In 1920 more Elm Trees were planted on the campus and they helped to create the landscape that we now all know and love. The Elms have provided beauty and peace to generations of Penn State students. Our NEW images of The Elms show them in the winter with lofty bare limbs creating a grand introduction to the Penn State Campus.
