The game against Ohio State on September 1, 2012 was Bill O’Brien’s first game in charge of the Nittany Lions and it was also a White Out game! The first White Out was in October 2005 against the Ohio State Buckeyes. The student section turned out in white to help the area look larger and to give an additional element to the loud and intimidating atmosphere of Beaver Stadium.

The “Scoreboard” is a limited edition print by watercolor artist, Richard Greenleaf. Pencil signed and number by the artist, the image measures 10 3/4 x 15 with an edition size of 450. The framed and matted size measures 16 3/4″ x 21″. A ’63 Penn State graduate with a degree in architecture, Richard was a full-time architect and spent most of his spare time painting in his home-studio.

On October 12th, 2013 while celebrating Homecoming, PSU went head to head with Michigan. After four overtimes PSU won the game 43-40. Not only was this Homecoming weekend but it was also a white out. We have an amazing white out image captured just as the sun is setting and long before anyone in the crowd knew there would be four overtimes!

“Alabama 2011” by photographer Steve Manuel captures the game played on Saturday September 10, 2011. PSU hosted Alabama in front of a crowd of 107,846. This was the first time Alabama was in town since 1989. The game was designated a “White House”, where every PSU fan wears white.
