A ’63 Penn State graduate with a degree in architecture, Richard was a full-time architect and spent most of his spare time painting in his home-studio.

Old Main in the University’s early history was not called Old Main, but Main Building. It was the entire campus—laboratories, library, student residence, chapel, and faculty offices were all in the Main Building.
