Another PSU tradition! The “S-zone” is created because The Pennsylvania State University Lion Ambassadors give the students white and blue t-shirts so they can create the “S” in the senior student section. The “S-zone” was moved from the 20 yard line to its current location at the beginning of the 2011 football season, as the student section was shifted over to between the 10 yard lines. Photographer Steve Manuel has captured the passion and spirit shown by the “S-zone” students.

In order to high-step march, Blue Band marchers must raise their thigh to be parallel with, extend their calf to be perpendicular to, and point the toe directly at the ground.
