Mourning Shadows

After Penn State won its first football national championship in 1983, 15,000 people cheered on the Nittany Lions during a post-bowl rally on Old Main Lawn. In 1992, President George H.W. Bush addressed 20,000 people while campaigning for a second term in the White House, and nearly 22,000 listened to presidential candidate Barack Obama prior to the 2008 elections.
