Cub and Lion

This image was shot by photographer Pat Little, who shot over 250 Penn State games. Pat spent a great deal of time interacting with Joe one on one and got to know the man behind the legend.

“Cub and Lion” was shot in the Fall of 1977 while Pat was a senior at Penn State. Pat was walking on campus and saw a gentleman with a baby lion on a leash. He approached the gentleman and asked if he would go to the Nittany Lion statue with him for just a few minutes. I promised him a photos that he would never forget. Once at the lion, the cub sat on the head of the Nittany Lion Statue. The cub looked at Pat and he shot this one frame. It must have heard the shutter of my camera and it wanted nothing to do with being calm after that. He ran all over the statue and Pat got a few other shots, but none quite like this one.

“Cub and Lion” comes in the following sizes: 8×12, 11×17, 16×24, and 26×44.

Unframed images come in a white mat and are shrink wrapped for protection. The unframed 26×44 comes rolled in a tube. Each framed image includes double mats, glass, and your choice of black, mahogany, cherry, or walnut frame.
